I really should have eaten something last night. I was completely out of energy today and the walk into Pemberton was a struggle.
Fortunately for me, it was fairly flat and easy terrain, otherwise I might still be out there…
I’ve been so distracted by my shins, my back and my ever-shrinking sleeping pad that I’ve forgot to mention my shoes. Both of them have some impressive holes and they are ready to be chucked in the bin. I didn’t feel anything yesterday, but it appears I have banged up my feet a bit and I’m developing pretty painful blisters on my pinky toes due to the holes.. I need a new pair ASAP. I did mean to order a new pair before I left, that way I could get my wife to send them to me when I needed them. But I bloody well forgot all about that, didn’t I? Thankfully, my lovely, amazing, ever-suffering wife ordered me a pair a week or so ago, because she is an absolute legend. She had also sent me my other backpack, as the Osprey Exos I had just did not seem to fit me very well. So I was expecting to pick up a few packages in Pemberton. I’d like to say that it put a pep in my step, but it didn’t. I was tired.
When I got into town I dropped into the Visitor centre and collected the packages waiting for me. My bag and new sleeping pad had arrived (huzzah!) my shoes had not (boo!)
