Bibbulmun track day 28: Pemberton (zero day)

July 7th 2021

Days km: 0.0km
Total km: 594.0km

A blessed zero day. Alas, it was not as restful as I would have liked as the mattress at the hotel was way too soft. I had to walk around a fair bit to ease the aching in my back. Not ideal.

It was bucketing down with rain when I bumped in Joel heading down the track. He didnt look too happy about it. He had tried to get accommodation for another night, the weather forecast for the day was pretty grim, but Pemberton was all booked out.

I sent my old backpack home along with a few other bits and bobs. I did contemplate sending my tent as well but decided to keep it, just in case (by the way the lady at the post office was super helpful in packing up my bag). I went back to the Visitor centre and made arrangements for them to forward my shoes to Walpole when they arrived.

I picked up a wireless charger at the Post Office, and lo and behold my phone is charging! It’s a miracle. The pictures my replacement phone was taking were pretty average, they always seemed a bit blurry no matter what I did. Hopefully I’ll be able to take some better pics now.

The chicken schnitzel at the hotel was pretty good. Not the best I’ve had on the track, but up there.
